  • Absurdly Early 2011 NFL Mock Draft

With everyone and their mother coming out with a 2011 Mock, I figure I might as well join the crowd

    1. Carolina Panthers: Da’Quan Bowers, DE, Clemson

It wouldn’t surprise me to see Carolina trade out of the first round, but as of right now I like Bowers

    2. Denver Broncos: Nick Fairley, DT, Auburn

With the Broncos moving to a 4-3, Fairley provides a dominant DT

    3. Buffalo Bills: Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama

Between Kyle Williams and Dareus, the Bills will have their DL set

    4. Cincinnati Bengals: Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri

I’m just not sold on Carson Palmer anymore. Plain and simple

    5. Arizona Cardinals: Cam Newton, QB, Auburn

Unless Arizona manages to get McNabb, they need to get a QB early

    6. Cleveland Browns: AJ Green, WR, Georgia

It seems the Browns are content with Colt McCoy, time to get him some weapons

    7. San Francisco 49ers: Jake Locker, QB, Washington

I think Locker shoots up draft boards again at the Senior Bowl and Combine

    8. Tennessee Titans: Robert Quinn, DE, North Carolina

Quinn has been destroying the East-West Shrine game and someone is going to take a chance on him. Why not Jeff Fisher?

    9. Dallas Cowboys: Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU

Peterson finally comes off the board to a CB starved Dallas team

    10. Washington Redskins: Ryan Mallett, QB, Arkansas

Even with his off the field concerns, Mallett is going to wow at the combine. The ‘Skins need a QB in the worst way

    11. Houston Texans: Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon St

With the Texans move to a 3-4, they need a NT to plug up the middle

    12. Minnesota Vikings: Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska

With no QB worth a 1st round pick, the Vikes simply go BAP

    13. Detroit Lions: Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA

Ayers is a top flight LB prospect that will make Detroit have the one of the best young front 7s in the NFL

14.St Louis Rams: Julio Jones, WR, Alabama

Jones gives Bradford a big play WR and could make the Rams the team to beat in the NFC West

    15. Miami Dolphins: Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama

Ingram gives the Dolphins a legitimate RB option

    16. Jacksonville Jaguars: Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue

Kerrigan just seems to fit the mold of Gene Smith’s draft picks better than any other player available

    17. New England Patriots: Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa

The Patriots won 3 Super Bowls by having a good defense to back up Tom Brady

    18. San Diego Chargers: Aldon Smith, DE/OLB, Missouri

Merriman has been a non-factor since being buster for steroids, Smith can become the Chargers new pass rusher

    19. New York Giants: Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississipi St

The Giants offensive line was abysmal and needs help ASAP

    20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jonathan Baldwin, WR, Pitt

Baldwin could be the last piece of the puzzle for Josh Freeman

    21. Kansas City Chiefs: Cameron Jordan, DE, Cal

The Chiefs still need help along their defensive front, Jordan will help immediately

    22. Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College

The Colts line was one of the worst in football. Any other QB besides Manning would’ve been sacked 50+ times

    23. Philadelphia Eagles: Brandon Harris, CB, Miami

The Eagles secondary was their weakest link, Harris will start immediately

    24. New Orleans Saints: Allen Bailey, DE Miami

The Saints defense has gotten by on turnovers and Gregg Williams’ schemes. They need to upgrade the unit, as they found out the hard way their offense can’t always bail them out.

    25. Seattle Seahawks: Von Miller, DE/OLB, Texas A&M

Miller gives the Seahawks a disruptive pass rusher that I think can play in the dirt in the NFL

    26. Baltimore Ravens: Greg Jones, MLB, Michigan St

I like Jones more than most, and the Ravens defense is simply getting old

    27. Atlanta Falcons: JJ Watt, DE, Wisconsin

Watt is the kind of guy Mike Smith will love to have

    28. New England Patriots: Justin Houston, OLB, Georgia

The Patriots continue their defensive rebuilding with Houston
